What's Happening?

Welcome to the 2026 season!

Check back weekly to see what is happening on the farm!

Whew! What a week to be a farmer. Even though our bodies are still recovering from planting onions, planting was the main focus again this past week. Over the last several days we planted more lettuce, more green onions, more tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and red potatoes. We also started prepping our pepper rows by cutting down the cover crop. This will be a great source of green manure for the beds. Trellising the cucumbers in the high tunnel was also checked off the list. This is the first year for these to be planted in the high tunnel and they are doing great. Believe it or not, but we have baby cucumbers! When everything seems to go as planned, there is always a hurdle to overcome. What's the most important resource to a farm? Water!  Our water pump busted! Water was gushing everywhere! With no rain in sight, replacing the pump is very high on the to do list. Make sure to mark your calendars for April 18th and join us at the Dixie Lee Farmers' Market. Our booth will be open from 9am-12pm, where you can purchase wonderful produce to eat and lovely plants to plant in your own garden.
